Digital Ignition

Last Wednesday and Friday, Room 2 students were lucky enough to participate in two 'Digital Ignition' session with Matua Alfie. We were able to think and talk about design, and use the Maker's Empire iPad app to design two 3-D objects which are 3-D printer-ready. It was great fun, and we all learnt a lot too!

Plant to Plate

Today, Room 2 were lucky enough to be visited by Plant to Plate, a not-for-profit organisation which teaches children in the ManawatÅ« about how to grow and cook delicious, healthy food. We learnt about some of the basics of gardening, and worked alongside volunteers to prepare and cook some simple, nutritious food. The session culminated in a shared lunch where we all got to enjoy the food Room 2 students had cooked.  Thank you Plant to Plate for a delicious learning experience!
